In ancient China, fireworks were believed to frighten away evil spirits and bring prosperity. Nowadays, fireworks on New Year’s Eve make London one of the best places to be to celebrate.
Best views of the free 10-minute show are from Victoria Embankment, South Bank, Westminster Bridge, Waterloo Bridge and Hungerford Bridge.

This year’s official display is world famous pyrotechnicians Groupe F Jack Morton. About 200,000 spectators are expected at the official viewing areas, which will be closed once they are full.
More than 3,000 police will be on duty. Police recommend to arrive early for the fireworks because they expect the viewing areas to be overcrowded.
